Pirates Bay, CA (PBC) Reviewers at Google revealed they do understand humor, parody and satire when they reluctantly agreed to place ads on the Pirates Bay Courier website (piratesbaycourier.com). Previously, the humorless behemoth had deemed the website way “too funny and enjoyable” for humans and expressed concern that placing ads on the website might lead readers to laugh out loud.
Google is Concerned Readers Might Mistake Articles as Real News
“When we read it, we were rolling all over with laughter at all the witty content. It was a huge waste of our time reading it. And we worried others would be tempted to waste hours enjoying themselves in a purely platonic manner,” said Sergey Brin, head honcho at Google. “It’s way funnier than “The Onion” which seems to have lost its way over the years. We are a serious company. We do good work. We want people to respect us for what we are and we didn’t want to encourage this sort of behavior. Besides, what would happen if someone actually thought one of the articles was true? Mayhem could result. See’s Candies selling weight loss drugs for God’s sake! What’s next? The war is over in Ukraine? But over our better judgement Corporate Legal said it was okay so what the heck. Have at it folks,” he added.
